Some of the flowers I planted in the garden outside my bedroom window on 30 December 2008

Today is an amazing day.
Blessings bloom in my smiling horse shoe.

  1. That's nice... I personally like sunflowers but once my mummy planted up some seeds I bought and they blew down when they grew up...I've gotten some more in the batch I bought two days ago so looking forward to getting the seeds and seeing them bloom soon...will need to find a way to keep them more grounded than how my mum did in the past...

I got the sunflowers to brighten up the whole planting fest but I'm really going to try the kitchen gardening kinda thing...tomato, sweet peppers, hot peppers, herbs and baigan. I've even found a trini blogger tropical organic farming guru! She is like the oracle of gardening! She is from Trini but now lives on another island her blog won the best gardening award for latin american or something.

  2. They're daisies, actually. Yes, I also intend to do some edible landscaping. It makes more sense. I did plant some celery, chive and parsley on the same day I planted the flowers ... but need to go and get organic seedlings and prepare beds and/or troughs for other crops.

  3. Beautiful .... I love flowers ... and would also like to plant edible stuff like Tomatoes and Sweet Peppers ... but I've been procrastinating big time! :-) ... I successfully grew bodi some time last year ..... altho the six plants I had ... yielded only about 4 or 5 bodi :-) ... but it was so worth it .... cuz observing the growth process ... from seed (on tissue) .... to seedling .... to full fledged bodi plant was simply amazing ....

  5. So nice to see this ray of sunshine and I love the flowers.
    Horseshoe nice setting as well.
I am thawing out from my walk today, yesterday the sun shone brightly here and today is overcast and COLD. Such is winter in CA.

  6. Wuz, yes - it's great to see the whole development of seed to plant to plate! Tastes better to grow it yourself too.

Meady, I now understand what you meant re you 'personally like sunflowers'. The herbs are still growing. The chive I think has died or is dying. It was a very thin variety and the sun dries it up.

Lynn, sending some of the sunnyside up to warm your CA winter.
