It is "very cool" as the child said. I was fascinated by much of it...how the big bat could be flying (no legs visable)...the ribbon people, and the ending was soft and beautiful...........
Evocative videography, Elspeth. I love the energy, the segueing from real to surreal, from black/bluish and white to colour. The moko jumbie shots are exotic, and what a brilliant idea to shoot that looming jumbie from the ground upwards. The endng scene reprising the hill dancers with the towering spirit is lovely. Kudos, and thanks for sharing.
Really good. My 6-year-old said: "Wow, it's weird but it's really cool. I love it."
ReplyDeleteAlso, I got to explain what a "moko jumbie is." :)
Thanks for starting my day right!

Great. From the mouth of babes. I love Alex's comment.
