Early morning walk

The park

Wake up.
Early walk.
Dewy greens.
Silence.
Light fog.
Stark trees.
Grey sky.
Fresh, chilled air.
Ruddy face.
Numb nose.
Misty breath.
Dog walkers.
Duck-filled pond.
Archway of pink blooms.
Carpet of petals.
Chanting a mantra to the beat of my steps.
Through the gates ...
The streets.
Awakening city.
Stale alcohol.
Broken bottles.
Young women.
Expletive mantras.
Older men.
Lingering.
Unable to let the night go.

Dear Libra . . .

Your Beauty is astounding
Your Gifts are abounding
Your Truth is resounding
Your Love is surrounding

It Happens All the Time

It happens all the time in heaven,
And some day

It will begin to happen
Again on earth -

That men and women who are married,
And men and men who are
Lovers,

And women and women
Who give each other
Light,

Often will get down on their knees

And while so tenderly
Holding their lover's hand,

With tears in their eyes,
Will sincerely speak, saying,

My dear,
How can I be more loving to you;

How can I be more kind?

Poem inspired by guest at Yoga & Cupcakes

View from Carlton Savannah during Yoga & Cupcakes

The Carlton Savannah
Kundalini Yoga
The sun going down on one side
The moon imminent, almost astride
Energized; atoms overflowing
Stars blinking
Meditating
Wave after wave
Of gratefulness
The Universe gesticulating

Ode to Daisy Chain - by Nisha Ojar

The below ode was penned by Nisha Ojar, who was inspired by my novel Daisy Chain.

Daisy chain, daisy chain, where are ya daisy chain?

Waiting for your bright yellow love to pop out and fill my space with all
that daisy love.

Daisy love, daisy love, where are ya daisy love?

Wanting to connect with the energies of those seeking divine love,
together we shall heal ourelves and each other with daisy magic.

Daisy magic, daisy magic, where are ya daisy magic?

Flowing mist through a valley of lilies, awakening those in deep slumber,
its time to rise and touch the earth from your humble corner with your
daisy joy.

Daisy joy, daisy joy, where are ya daisy joy?

Within the heart is where you are found, within the heart lies my song, i
sing your love with magical joy, Daisy chain, you have healed us yet
again.

Welcome

My Spirit is a strong and beautiful Spirit.
She is with me always,
So that I am not led astray.
Where my Spirit is,
There I am.
Who my Spirit is,
That I am.
My Spirit is Love
My Spirit is Trust
My Spirit is Innocence
My Spirit is Wisdom.
My Spirit is True, above all, to my Self.
My Spirit moves me to be as I am.
My Spirit trusts me to be as I am.
And so I am.
Who knocks against my Spirit shall not enter.
Who moves with my Spirit moves with me also.

Early morning gift

I was awakened at 2:30 a.m. by a loud, consistent chewing sound right next to my ear. Realising that it was Jasper crouched next to my head, I flew out of bed and turned on the light to see what he had. It was a baby dove and he was busy consuming it—something he rarely does. He usually just brings the animals whole (either alive or dead) with not even a tooth mark on them. Very rarely is there even blood.

Considering the fact that the captured animals are gifts from cat to owner, this morning it was as though Jasper had brought me a box of chocolates and then proceeded to eat them himself.

I took the bird from him and wrapped it in a piece of paper so he would not get to it while I did yoga. Interestingly, the available piece of paper I reached for had a poem on it, which I had come up with as 2009 crossed into 2010.

My heart is open
I receive the Beloved
I embrace the Beloved
I am the Beloved
You are the Beloved
We are the Beloved.

Rest in peace, Dove.

we left our skin

After freedom, what follows?

Dried Petria flower in spider's web in garden
*
Truth comes.
She cuts the cord in the web of illusion.

After freedom, what follows?
The flower meets the sky again on a windy day.

Art

Last night I looked up
And saw your face glowing.

The stars were connecting to draw you
For me.

Look up tonight.
I am drawn too.

Alphabet Poem

Inspired by this Photographic Dictionary, which I came across when reading this blog, I decided to write a poem using only words beginning with each letter of the alphabet (in alphabetical order). It's a nice little challenge for the mind. I wrote two more this morning. My first attempt is below. Why not give it a go yourself?

Alone,
Breathing Closely.

Dusky Evening
Falls ...
Gorgeous,
Haunting.

I
Joyfully Kiss Lips:
Moist
Nectar
Open.

Perhaps Quiet Romances
Start Thriving Under Violets,
Where,
X-tatic,
You
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Enlightening me
Illuminating my path

Spider in garage the other morning at sunrise
*

Below, an extract (full article here):

Spider honors each individual's essence. Honor and encourage each person's individual essence, recognizing and gathering only the sweetness. In our world, humans are often honored for their actions instead of their essence. We often look to be fed by what we do instead of who we are, by work and play instead of our divine essence. Spider assures us that a thousand hours of work will never be as valuable to her or Great Spirit as one drop of your essence.

Have you ever looked closely at a spider's web sparkling in the sun? Each place four directions intersect (much like the intersection of our world) is the home of countless rainbows, adding to the spectacle that is the kaleidoscope of her creation. Can you be dedicated enough to Beauty to encourage each of her creations to shine forth their own light so that the whole web can sparkle its infinitely complex pattern? When an individual's essence is not honored, a rainbow is stifled. Are you secure enough in your own shining that you can allow others to join and compliment your light?

Let it go.

Let it come.

Letting go
Is the same as receiving.
