Most recent TABLE FOR TWO review

The most recent Tripadvisor Review for my two-person restaurant, TABLE FOR TWO

A Magical Birthday Surprise

 (5 stars)

My boyfriend and I were vacationing in Tobago, and I was looking for a special restaurant to celebrate his birthday which also happened to be the last day of our vacation. I was searching through TripAdvisor, when I landed on Table for Two. While the website gives you an idea of what you might expect from the experience, nothing will compare to the truly beautiful reality. So much thought, preparation and attention to detail were given to our dinner, completely personalized for us. The mastermind of this production pours her heart into the experience, and it's noted in every single moment. The food was outstanding, the in-betweens were breathtaking, and the whole night just made both of us feel extremely grateful. It's not everyday that you get to experience a dinner like this, so whether you have something to celebrate or not, take the time to share this unique piece of art with someone special. You will be enthralled, I promise. Thank you TFT for all that you do!

Love, the vital force

Love, like kindness, arises from inner necessity. It is a complete and spontaneous expression of one's nature. To deny love is to deny one's existence. To deny the great love of one's life is to nullify a part, if not all, of one's vital force. It is to block that which is completely healing, both to the self, and to the beloved.

Love at first sight

Gloxinia
On Friday one of my yoga students  who was unable to make it to last week's Humee Hum Brahm Hum gave me this flowering plant as a gift. She couldn't remember the name of it, so I said I would ask my father (who's a Botanist).

Later, I emailed to let her know that it's a Gloxinia. She emailed back with this site and indicated what the Gloxinia flower stands for: Love at first sight.

Great gift. Better yet when it's mutual.

Sign up for Tek Har Kaur

Sign up here to the mailing list of Tek Har Kaur and:
(a) receive updates on newly recorded mantras, performances, Thou Art Yoga events, products and more.
(b) enjoy the exclusive fan download of the Humee Hum Brahm Hum mp3

A little side story about this special mp3:
The total length of the song, including the Thou Art Yoga tag, is 1:53 seconds. This was not planned. The recording was made in the flow of the moment. Then one morning I was checking the time of the mantra and realised that the exact length of the Humee Hum Brahm Hum mantra itself (minus tag) is 1:43.

If you have been reading this blog, you will know that 143 is the "code number" for I LOVE YOU (based on the number of letters in each word):
1= I
4 = Love
3 = You

As the saying goes: Nothing is a coincidence.

No better gift

Yesterday was a fantastic birthday from my first conscious breath upon waking to my last conscious breath before sleep. It gets better every year.

Last night's celebration can't be put into adequate words.

When I got home after, and all was quiet, it struck me in a massive wave—the realisation of the magnitude of love I have in this lifetime, within and all around me. There is no better gift.

"Thou Art Yoga is a global movement for creative consciousness. THOU = You. ART= Creation. YOGA = our connection with the Divine. Not everyone may come to know Yoga by way of a yoga mat and daily practice. But Yoga (Divine connection) is already in all of us and simply needs to be realised. My intention is for Thou Art Yoga to be a catalyst for the global upliftment of people and awakening of consciousness through Yoga (particularly Kundalini) and the Creations (music, art, workshops, events and more) inspired by it."

Words to live by

This poem by Mastin Kipp was in today's Daily Love email. Spot on truth:

Love everyone as best you can, but only invest in people who invest in you.

Your heart and dreams are precious things, they should be in hands of people who will help to guide them, protect them and nurture them.

As you embark out into the unknown on the Journey of your Dreams choose wisely your traveling mates. Your team and who you surround yourself with is one of the most important decisions you can make and a great influence on whether you will complete the journey successfully.

Treasure your dreams, follow them with trust and surround yourself with only they best.

Don't think twice about dropping the rest.

The following is not a paid advertisement

This photo, taken with my laptop camera, does no justice to the beautiful fabric pocket book I received in the mail yesterday. It was made by Lynn of Getting My Feet Wet. Go to her blog and you will see more of the pocket books. In fact, have a look at a whole set of them here.

I had ordered one, with a particular intention ... and boy, did Lynn deliver!

Without an ounce of reservation or hesitation, I highly recommend Lynn's pocket books as a one-of-a-kind gift for you or someone else. Unique, original, tailor-made for the giftee. In each pocket (filled with intentions and affirmations) is the essence of whatever the giftee wants ... things that money could never buy.

I went to the Post Office to get my package yesterday. It was neatly encased in a white box with all kinds of stamps and customs tape all over it. I was on my way to the POS/Moksha yoga class and thought I would wait to open the package there.

However, unable to resist, I ripped open the box while stuck in traffic: "WOWWWW!" Simple yet intricate, with amazing detail, multiple textures, expertly put together ... And more than all of that, I could feel the vast wave of love and intention that went into process and product.

Later, while stuck in more traffic, I had time to read some of the many affirmations Lynn had put into the pockets. POWERFUL!

Only when I got home, just before bed, did I have time to really look at the book properly and read all of the affirmations. After yoga this morning, I reached into the book again and pulled out some of the affirmations. More than something I "ordered", this feels like a huge gift I have received. Small and simple, yet hugely empowering, magnetic, transforming and magical in quality.

And I know it is "working" already.

Thank you, Lynn.

I am/you are the answer to someone's prayer

This morning when I woke up, the first thought in my head was: "What is success?"

Immediately following this was a slew of questions:
Is it owning a house?
Is it having a car?
Is it having a high paying job?

Is it having loads of money in my bank account?

Is it having a long term relationship?

Is it having fame?

Listing these items, I realised that I have none of them. I had a car, but I sold it a few months ago.

The only thing I "have" is myself.

In the eyes of the world, "success" is largely determined by material possessions. The bigger your house, car and salary, the more successful you are.

A short while after thinking this, I did sadhana, then went to check email. I sent a short email to a friend who had called me yesterday, to follow up on how she was doing. As I sent the email off, I unexpectedly burst into tears ... not of sadness, but of realisation. Someone had trusted me enough to reach out to me in her moment of despair and I was able to listen, understand and offer solutions. By the end of the conversation, her tears were laughter and her fear glimmered with hope.

As I came off the email, a voice within said: You are the answer to someone's prayer.

In that moment it struck me. How true! By simply being who I am and doing what I do, the lives of many are touched, even transformed. Sometimes I see it, sometimes they tell me, sometimes I don't even know. I'm not saying any of this in vanity -- simply recognition, acknowledgment and gratitude.

The same goes for you. Without knowing it most of the time, the simplest truth of who you are and how you do things has the power to touch, heal and transform others.

Eat, Pray, Love - the personal version

I was chatting with someone at the Moksha Yoga 5th Anniversary Party on Saturday night. At one point, the conversation touched on Eat, Pray, Love. I asked her where she would go to experience her personal Eat, Pray and Love. I can't remember her answers now, but they were interesting. Katmandu was one of them.

When it was my turn, I told her:

My Eat would be California which, as far as I know, has the largest raw food community in the world.

My Pray would be to travel the world, discovering different labyrinths to walk in diverse locations.

My Love ... that could happen anywhere. To choose a specific place for it to manifest would be extremely limiting. You never know how, when, where and why Love suddenly comes.

Eat, Drink, Love

Yesterday and the day before, I decided to listen to my body and give it what it wanted to eat and drink. The day before (food-wise), it was sweet potato and carrots, water and Yogi Tea. While shaving the skin off the sweet potato, this heart-shaped piece fell into the sink—confirmation that my body was happy with what it was about to get.
Sweet Heart

Yesterday morning my body asked for coconut water, so I went and took a jug to be filled (6 coconuts did it). Amazingly, after the vendor chopped one of the nuts open, I noticed that the hole was heart-shaped . Once again, confirmation.
A (w)hole lot of Love

As I sit here now and tune in to my body, what does it want? More coconut water, fruits, Yogi Tea ... and something soft, warm and textured (slightly rough)—mashed eddoes with a dash of a herb or spice, perhaps. On one hand—cool, juicy and rehydrating and on the other hand—soft, warm/hot and spicy. Comforting, nurturing, cleansing and refueling.

Definitely worth watching

A friend of mine sent me links to some great short films yesterday. They are each roughly five minutes long and worth setting aside the time to watch.

A Divine 143=I Love You Day

Today was not a bad day, but there were points along the way where I felt temporarily overwhelmed. As I was driving home from town, with the radio on, I decided to get guidance by playing a game I usually play when I'm on a long drive (either alone or with others). It's called "The Song Game". Kind of like reading cards or consulting an oracle. Without knowing what is coming, choose an upcoming song for yourself (if alone) or for another (if driving with someone). Say up front what message the song will have for the person to whom it is dedicated.

E.g.
Something in the next song will answer a question you've had about your career.

OR
Two songs ahead of this one you'll find a clue to where you must travel next for your greatest benefit.

It usually works.

So, as I was driving, I said aloud: "The next song is my Guardian Angel speaking to me."

The song that came was one I had never heard before, but it fitted perfectly—the lyrics were really like me and my Guardian Angel communicating. Look and listen and you will see what I mean. The video is one of those that is disabled by request, but you can click here to hear/see it. I love it. And the lyrics are here: I want to talk to you ... Let's talk.

By the time the song had finished, I really felt that Divine communication was in operation. Further confirmation came when, on the way home, I saw various examples of what I call my 'code' for "I Love You": the number 143.
1 = I
4 = Love
3 = You

I kept seeing cars with that number on their number plates ( I took photos of them while driving). Messages confirming Love from Above.
This first one, 1437 ... whenever I see that on a car numberplate (as I have before), I automatically see it as "I Love You Elspeth" (because Elspeth has 7 letters in it).
"------, I Love You"
"-----, I Love You"
