Words to live by

This poem by Mastin Kipp was in today's Daily Love email. Spot on truth:

Love everyone as best you can, but only invest in people who invest in you.

Your heart and dreams are precious things, they should be in hands of people who will help to guide them, protect them and nurture them.

As you embark out into the unknown on the Journey of your Dreams choose wisely your traveling mates. Your team and who you surround yourself with is one of the most important decisions you can make and a great influence on whether you will complete the journey successfully.

Treasure your dreams, follow them with trust and surround yourself with only they best.

Don't think twice about dropping the rest.

Very welcome words of advice.

I deleted my Blackberry Messenger application on Sunday.

Yesterday I started 'de-cluttering' my facebook account, but because of Facebook's super tight hold on their 'members', it was quite a merry-go-round i had to board to delete an acquaintance. So I just deleted my account. Much to the horror of some of the friends I am in contact with on msn messenger, or by phone.

But the freedom felt great!
Of course today I was in a little bit of a FB withdrawal, having 'checked' the FB app on my phone as soon as I woke up this morning.
But it's just a habit to break. I know I'll be fine.

Family and friends abroad are still close via email, and local ones are a phone call or text away.
I'm personally looking forward to spending quality time with friends I've made who contribute to my life, or to whose lives I contribute, in positive ways of course.

I am also looking forward to the hours I will gain by not spending time on FB, reading links, posts, and status(es), that don't make an impact on my life.

I feel like I can breathe a bit better :)
